On Move Day it’s all about organisation!  Use a checklist in the run up to your move such as the moveme.com checklist to make sure you don’t forget anything!

Move day tasks:

• Packing up the last few items: kettle, cleaning items, bed-linen.
• Managing the removal men and directing where things should go.
• Cleaning the old property and the new property when you arrive. (keep back your cleaning equipment or employ a cleaner)
• Taking meter readings at both houses.
• Liaising with the legal companies.
• Finalising keys and the sale/purchase with the estate agent.

Don’t forget to:

• Contact your new utility companies, including communications providers to confirm you are set up at your new address.
• Find tradesmen for any jobs that need doing.
• Confirm your financial companies have changed your address.
• Arrange lock change at the new address
